Co-own an aircraft
without the spreadsheet guilt.
Snap meters before and after flying. HobbsMate drafts the flight, splits costs fairly, and keeps every partner on the same page.
Built for Bonanza partnerships, Cessna shares, and any multi-owner setup tired of Venmo chases and disputed balances.
Sound familiar?
Spreadsheet guilt
You meant to update the shared costs sheet after every flight. Three months later, nobody trusts the numbers.
Lost receipts
One partner paid for fuel. The receipt is in a group text somewhere. Settlement day becomes awkward.
Uneven flying
Who flew last? Who is due for the next oil change share? Without a shared record, small resentments build.
Settlement awkwardness
Venmo requests and "I thought we settled that" threads — partnership admin should not feel like HR.
One flight updates the whole partnership ledger
Meters and receipts feed the flight, shared costs, and running balances — every partner sees the same numbers.

How the money works — a real example
Alex and Jordan co-own N172HM 50/50. One Saturday flight, one fuel stop. Here is how HobbsMate allocates charges using rules the product actually supports.
Flight · 14 Mar 2026
Who flew
Alex · 1.9 Hobbs hr (photo-verified)
Who paid for fuel
Jordan · $89.40 at the FBO (receipt attached)
Which expenses are shared
Fuel split 50/50 by ownership %. Hangar and insurance use the same ownership stake. Usage-based charges (e.g. engine reserve per Hobbs hour) can apply to the pilot who flew.
Allocation
- Fuel $89.40 → Alex owes $44.70, Jordan owes $44.70
- Jordan paid the full receipt → Alex owes Jordan $44.70
After this flight
Running balance: Alex owes Jordan $44.70 (before any prior hangar or insurance shares).
When they settle, Jordan records “Alex paid me $44.70 via Venmo.” HobbsMate updates the ledger — it does not move money between partners.
Supported today
- Ownership percentages and per-partner stakes
- Usage charges tied to Hobbs hours flown
- Engine and maintenance reserves
- Shared operating accounts and reimbursement tracking
- Split types: equal, percent, or fixed amounts
- Settlements that record payment method (Venmo, check, bank transfer, shared account, etc.)
Not supported / honest limits
- HobbsMate does not automatically transfer money between co-owners
- No built-in escrow or automatic Venmo/Zelle payouts for partnerships
- Complex waterfall profit-sharing or non-aircraft asset splits — talk to us first
- Club/org Stripe invoicing is separate from personal partnership ledgers
Settlements record payments — who paid whom, how much, and by what method. You settle outside HobbsMate (Venmo, check, shared account) and record it here to keep balances current.
Partnership admin that actually gets used
Splits, settlements, scheduling, and accountability — tied to the same flight record you already capture.
Cost splits that stick
Track who paid for hangar, insurance, fuel, and maintenance. Split by ownership share or custom rules.
Balance netting & settlements
See running balances between partners. Settle up when it makes sense — not after a spreadsheet marathon.
Shared scheduling
Multiple owners and pilots on one calendar. Fewer double-bookings and "I did not know you had it" moments.
Pilot attribution
Every flight ties to who flew. Maintenance and expenses follow the same record — not five different apps.
Receipt accountability
Fuel and maintenance receipts attach to flights and expenses. Partners see the same ledger.
Multi-owner pricing
$40/mo
per aircraft · $400/yr · unlimited owners
$40/mo total · ~$20 per owner (2-way split) · $40/mo total · ~$10 per owner (4-way split)
Flat rate — not priced per seat. Everything in Plus, plus unlimited owners, scheduling, cost splits, and settlement records.
“Finally quit the spreadsheet. My partner and I share a Bonanza. HobbsMate tells us both what's due, who flew when, and we actually split costs without the back-and-forth. It just works.”

What Pilots Are Saying
“They actually listen. I sent feedback about a quirk in the fuel receipt flow and got a reply in a day. Saw it fixed in the next release. Feels like they're building with us, not for some roadmap. That's rare.”

“I didn't think the AI would really save me time. Now I just snap the tach and fuel receipts, and HobbsMate fills in the rest. I review and approve. Done. I thought I'd still be typing everything in. Nope.”

“The AD Wizard is still pretty basic, but even so it surfaced ADs I didn't realize applied to my plane. Worth having in the tool belt.”
